Terms of Service

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) are a binding agreement between you and Love Veracity, the operator of Takkn. They govern your use of the Takkn app and these web pages. Please read them carefully — they include limits on our liability and rules about subscriptions, content, and account termination.

1. Acceptance of terms

By creating an account or using Takkn, you accept these Terms and acknowledge our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the app. If you use Takkn on Apple’s or Google’s platforms, the applicable store’s terms also apply, and Section 16 (App-store provisions) supplements these Terms.

2. What Takkn is

Takkn is a private app for two people in a relationship to chat with end-to-end encrypted messages, make voice and video calls, share photos, videos, and voice notes, keep shared memories, answer a daily question together, maintain streaks, and plan dates — including AI-assisted date suggestions.

3. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old (or the age of majority in your jurisdiction, if higher) and able to form a binding contract to use Takkn. Takkn is intended for adults; you may not use it if you are a minor.

4. Your account and phone number login

You sign in with your phone number and a one-time code (OTP), and the app is protected by an account PIN you set (with optional biometric unlock on your device). You are responsible for keeping your phone, PIN, and account secure, for keeping your phone number current, and for all activity under your account. Tell us immediately at support@takkn.com if you suspect unauthorized access.

5. The relationship model

Takkn connects you with one partner. Content and activity you create in a relationship (messages, media, memories, answers, plans) are shared with your connected partner as part of how the app works. If a relationship is ended by either partner, shared chat history is deleted within 60 days, and some shared history may be preserved for the other partner only in anonymized form, as described in the Privacy Policy.

6. Your content and license

“User content” means the messages, photos, videos, voice notes, memories, answers, and profile information you create or upload. You own your content. You grant Love Veracity a limited, non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, store, encrypt, transmit, back up, and display that content solely to operate and improve the service for you and your partner. This license ends when your content is deleted from our systems under our retention rules. We claim no ownership of your content and do not use it for advertising or to train AI models.

7. Your responsibility for content

You are solely responsible for the content you upload or share, and you represent that you have the necessary rights to share it. Do not share content you do not have permission to use, and do not share another person’s private content without their consent.

8. Acceptable use — zero tolerance for abuse

You agree not to use Takkn to:

  • harass, abuse, threaten, stalk, intimidate, or harm any person;
  • share illegal content, or use the app for any unlawful purpose;
  • share intimate or private content of any person without their consent;
  • impersonate any person or misrepresent your identity or age;
  • send spam or unsolicited bulk messages;
  • upload malware, or probe, disrupt, reverse engineer, or overload the service;
  • circumvent security, rate limits, or access controls;
  • infringe the intellectual property, privacy, or other rights of others.

We have zero tolerance for objectionable content and abusive behavior. Violations may result in content removal, feature restrictions, suspension, or permanent termination of your account, with or without notice, and referral to law enforcement where appropriate.

9. Reporting, moderation, and enforcement

You can report abuse, safety, privacy, or content concerns at any time from Settings → Report a concern in the app, or by contacting support@takkn.com or our Support page. We review reports promptly and act on them under Section 8. Because messages are end-to-end encrypted, we cannot read message content; our enforcement relies on your reports, account and metadata signals, and the evidence you choose to share with us.

10. Subscriptions and paid features

Takkn offers optional premium features through auto-renewing subscriptions purchased via the Apple App Store or Google Play. The following applies to any subscription you buy:

  • Billing: payment is charged to your Apple App Store or Google Play account at confirmation of purchase. Takkn does not receive or store your card details.
  • Auto-renewal: your subscription renews automatically for the same period unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current period; your store account is charged for renewal within 24 hours before the new period starts.
  • Cancellation: manage or cancel anytime in your App Store or Google Play subscription settings. Deleting the app does not cancel a subscription. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period, and you keep premium access until then.
  • Price and trials: the price, period, and any free trial or introductory offer are shown before you buy. Unused trial time may be forfeited when you purchase a subscription, per store rules.
  • Refunds are handled by Apple or Google under their policies; Takkn cannot issue refunds for store purchases.
  • Changes: we may change subscription pricing or included features prospectively; changes apply no earlier than your next renewal, and the stores will notify you where required.
  • Rewards and virtual items (if offered) have no monetary value, are not redeemable for cash, and may be modified or discontinued.

11. AI features and no professional advice

AI-generated suggestions (such as date plans and relationship insights) are produced by machine-learning models and may be inaccurate, incomplete, or unsuitable. They are ideas to consider, not facts or recommendations you should rely on. Takkn does not provide relationship counseling, legal, medical, financial, or other professional advice. Verify important details (such as opening hours, prices, and locations) before acting on them.

12. Service availability and changes

We may add, change, suspend, or discontinue any part of Takkn, and the service may occasionally be unavailable. Where a change would materially reduce a paid feature you have already paid for, Section 10 (Changes) applies. The service is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis.

13. Third-party services

Takkn relies on third-party providers for SMS delivery, push notifications, media storage, call relay infrastructure, AI processing, maps and places data, and subscription management (see the Privacy Policy for the list). Their availability and performance are outside our control, and their terms govern your relationship with them where applicable.

14. Account deletion and termination

You can delete your account at any time from Settings → Delete Account or via our account deletion page. Deletion is scheduled immediately, remains recoverable for 30 days, and is then permanently processed as described in the Privacy Policy. We may suspend or terminate your account for violation of these Terms, to comply with law, or to protect users; where reasonable, we will tell you why. Sections that by their nature should survive (including 6, 15, 17, 18, and 19) survive termination.

15. Disclaimers and limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law: (a) Takkn is provided without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement; (b) Love Veracity is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for loss of data, profits, or goodwill; and (c) our total aggregate liability for all claims relating to the service is limited to the greater of the amounts you paid us in the 12 months before the claim or INR 5,000 (or the equivalent in your currency). Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded by law, and nothing affects mandatory consumer rights available in your country of residence.

16. App-store provisions (Apple and Google)

These Terms are between you and Love Veracity, not with Apple Inc. or Google LLC. Apple and Google have no obligation to provide maintenance or support for Takkn and are not responsible for addressing claims relating to it, but Apple (and its subsidiaries) is a third-party beneficiary of these Terms and may enforce them against you when you use the iOS app. You represent that you are not located in an embargoed country and are not on any restricted-party list.

17. Indemnity

To the extent permitted by law, you agree to indemnify Love Veracity against third-party claims arising from your content or your breach of these Terms, except to the extent caused by our own fault.

18. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of India, and the courts of India have jurisdiction over disputes — except that if you live in a country whose law requires otherwise, you keep the protection of that country’s mandatory consumer laws and the right to bring proceedings in your local courts. Before filing a claim, please contact us at support@takkn.com — most issues can be resolved quickly and informally.

19. General

If any provision of these Terms is found unenforceable, the remainder stays in effect. Our failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver. You may not assign these Terms; we may assign them to a successor of the service, and this policy of assignment does not reduce your rights. These Terms and the Privacy Policy are the entire agreement between you and Love Veracity about Takkn.

20. Changes to these terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will revise the “Last updated” date above and, for material changes, give you reasonable advance notice in the app before they take effect. Continued use of Takkn after the effective date means the revised Terms apply.
