1. Delete from inside the app (fastest)
Open Takkn and go to Settings → Delete Account. Confirm the deletion and your account is deactivated immediately.
2. Request deletion without the app
If you no longer have the app or can’t sign in, email support@takkn.com with the subject “Account deletion request” and include the phone number your account was created with. To protect your account, we verify the request by sending a one-time code to that phone number before processing the deletion. We confirm by email once the deletion is scheduled.
3. What happens when you delete
- Your account is deactivated immediately — you and your partner can no longer use it.
- There is a 30-day recovery window: if you change your mind, sign back in within 30 days to restore your account.
- After 30 days, your account and personal data (profile, messages, media, memories, activity) are permanently deleted or irreversibly anonymized.
- Some shared relationship history may remain visible to your former partner only in anonymized form.
4. What we keep, and why
After deletion we retain only limited, content-free records — security/audit logs, fraud-prevention signals, and records we are legally required to keep (for example, purchase records) — for as long as the law requires, and then delete them. Subscription billing is managed by Apple or Google: cancel any active subscription in your App Store or Google Play settings, because deleting your account does not cancel a subscription.
