1. Who we are
Takkn is a private app for two people in a relationship to chat, call, and keep shared memories. Takkn is operated by Love Veracity (“Takkn”, “we”, “us”). This policy applies to the Takkn mobile app and these pages.
2. Information we collect
- Phone number — used to create your account and sign you in via a one-time code (OTP).
- Profile information — such as your display name and profile photo.
- Relationship / partner information — the connection between you and your partner and related activity.
- Messages and chat metadata — message content you send, plus metadata such as timestamps and delivery/read state.
- Memories and media — photos, videos, voice notes, and other media you upload.
- Notification tokens — push tokens used to deliver notifications and calls to your device.
- Device and session information — device and app version, and session records used to keep you signed in and secure.
- Usage and security logs — limited operational and audit logs used to run the service and protect accounts.
3. How we use information
- Create and sign in to your account.
- Provide relationship features and keep your data in sync with your partner.
- Deliver messaging and calling.
- Provide memories and profile features.
- Send notifications you have enabled.
- Keep accounts safe and secure, and prevent abuse.
- Respond to your support requests.
4. Media storage
Media you upload may be stored in private cloud storage. Access is granted through short-lived, signed (private) URLs rather than public links, and media may be encrypted at rest by our storage provider.
5. Communications and encryption
We use third-party infrastructure to deliver core features:
- One-time login codes are sent by SMS through a messaging provider.
- Push notifications are delivered through Firebase Cloud Messaging (Android) and Apple Push Notification service (iOS).
- Voice and video calls use WebRTC, with relay (TURN) infrastructure to connect devices across networks.
Data is encrypted in transit using standard transport security (HTTPS/TLS). Some message content may additionally be end-to-end encrypted: depending on your app version and feature rollout, messages may be sent as encrypted ciphertext that is decrypted on your partner’s device. We do not claim that all content, including media, is end-to-end encrypted.
6. Third-party processors
We share information with service providers only as needed to operate Takkn:
- SMS provider (e.g. Twilio) — to send login codes.
- Cloud storage (e.g. Amazon S3) — to store uploaded media.
- Firebase Cloud Messaging and Apple Push Notification service — to deliver notifications and calls.
- Hosting, database, and infrastructure providers — to run the service.
We do not currently use third-party analytics or advertising trackers. If we add crash reporting or analytics in the future, we will update this policy.
7. Data sharing
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only to provide the app (with the processors above), to comply with the law, to protect safety and security, or to provide support you request. Content you share with your partner is, by design, visible to your partner.
8. Data retention
- When you request account deletion, your account is disabled immediately and scheduled for deletion.
- You have a 30-day recovery window to restore your account.
- After 30 days, your account is permanently deleted or anonymized.
- Shared relationship history may be preserved for your partner in anonymized form.
- Limited operational and audit records may be retained as necessary for security, legal, and accounting purposes.
9. Account deletion
You can delete your account at any time from Settings → Delete Account in the app. Deletion is scheduled immediately, remains recoverable for 30 days, and is processed permanently after the grace period.
10. Your rights and choices
You can access and update your profile in the app, manage notification settings, and delete your account. To request help with your data or exercise privacy rights available in your region, contact us at support@takkn.app.
11. Children and minors
Takkn is intended for adults and is not directed to children below the minimum age required in your jurisdiction. We do not knowingly collect information from children. If you believe a child has used Takkn, contact us.
12. Security
We use measures such as encryption in transit, private (signed) media access, and session protections to safeguard your information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
13. International users
Takkn relies on infrastructure and providers that may operate in different countries. Your information may be processed in locations where we or our providers operate.
14. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date above. Continued use of Takkn after an update means you accept the revised policy.
